The University of Akron Main Campus and Wayne Campus will close today at 2:30 p.m. due to periodically worsening road conditions in Akron and northern Summit County.

Dr. Smolen, Professor Emeritus, serves as the principal investigator with the grant. Her areas of interest in research are reading in a second language, multicultural literature, literacy assessment, and diversity issues. |

Dr. Zhang is an Associate Professor of Linguistics in the English Department. Her research focuses on second language acquisition, TESOL program design, and academic language development of English Language Learners. |
