The University of Akron Main Campus and Wayne Campus will close today at 2:30 p.m. due to periodically worsening road conditions in Akron and northern Summit County.

Application requirements

In addition to basic demographic and teaching experience information, you will need to provide the following information:

1. Previous universities/colleges

Provide the following information for ALL universities and/or colleges you have attended (including The University of Akron).

  • Name and location of institution
  • Major
  • Dates attended
  • Degree awarded
  • Date completed (or anticipated)
  • GPA of 3.0 in your most recent program with 12 credit hour min in coursework required

2. Short answer questions

  • Briefly explain why you are interested in a TESOL Endorsement
  • Briefly explain what you expect to get out of this training

3. Essay response (350-500 words) addressing the following question

  • What are your thoughts and beliefs about how to best meet the needs of English Learners in your classroom?

4. Official transcripts

  • Please send official transcripts from any university you list on your application (other than The University of Akron) to:
