The scholarship was established by Judith A. and Roger T. Read to assist deserving students in the college to complete their education. The scholarship is awarded to students entering their junior year with potential for renewal in the senior year. Qualified recipients are to have evidence of financial need and a GPA of at least 3.0. First preference will be given to, but is not limited to, students who work.

There is no application process for the award. All eligible Buchtel College of Arts and Sciences students are considered for the award.

University scholarships

  3. Major-specific and Honors scholarships are awarded based on completion of specific requirements.
  4. Endowed scholarships are awarded to some students who have demonstrated history of leadership, community service or other personal factors. 
  5. Scholarships are also available from the Office of Accessibility, Military Services Center (for veterans) and ROTC.
  6. External scholarships are offered through Americorp and the Educational Training Voucher.
